If you had to make a list of the top ten Italian luxury sports cars, Maserati would be an easy choice. Founded in 1914, in the city of Bologna, Maserati is recognized around the world for the exotic looks of its machines and their superb performance. Most people do not know that the same company owns Maserati and Ferrari. However, that is not the only interesting detail about the company. 6. Original Ownership
Maserati is named after the family of four brothers who founded the company: Aliferi, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, and Ernesto Maserati. During the early years, the company focused on building racing and touring cars. However, as the years by, and ownership changed, the company switched its focus to producing urban cars.
