Few cars are more engaging or more popular than a Ferrari. Founded in 1929, Ferrari did not begin to produce street-worthy sports cars until the late 1940s. Today, with cars such as the Ferrari 458 Spider and LaFerrari, Ferrari has cemented its reputation for building sexy, high-performing vehicles. The following are few fun facts about the company and its cars.

6. The Story Behind the Logo

Ferrari’s famous prancing horse logo is not a reference to the car’s speed and power (although it certainly is apt). The logo is the same symbol used by Count Francesco Baracca, an ace in the Italian Air Force. However, before adopting the logo for the company, Enzo Ferrari opted to change the background from original to yellow, resulting in today’s distinct logo.
