7. Infiniti was designed specifically for the US market
The original concept was set in motion due to pressure from increased sales of European luxury brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. Tempted by market share and increased Japanese competition from newly found Lexus, a division of Toyota, Nissan started to outfit Japanese domestic models with a new luxury brand called Infiniti.
