15. 1917 Chevrolet Series D
You can’t fault Chevrolet for the Series D in 1917. It was an experimental time, and new engine technologies were hard to come by. While it was Chevrolet’s first V-8 engine, it could only muster a lawn mower like 36 horsepower, which made less than Chevrolet’s four-pot mill at the time. It was killed after one year, and it took Chevrolet 37 years before attempting another V-8.
